Stitches: Stories from Women with Bleeding Disorders
Calling Blood Sisters of all ages! Join Kathy Gerus-Darbison, who represents Stitches and their ClotNot Project, for an interactive session combining art and life. The ClotNot Project gives women a safe place to voice their feelings about specific issues and uses hand-made dolls to lead supportive and therapeutic mental heath discussions.

Bill DarbisonBill Darbison is a retired technical lead in network operations. He has been active for over 24 years in the local, national and international bleeding disorders community as a volunteer, activist and fundraiser.

Kathy Gerus DarbisonKathy Gerus-Darbison is a tenured professor of Sociology at Macomb Community College and has served as an HIV educator/counselor for 18 years. She is the founder of the Stitches Doll Project/Stitches Women’s Initiatives Inc. She has held various volunteer positions including a former board member for NHF and the NAPWA. She was also a member of President Clinton’s HIV/AIDS advisory council.

Stephanie Gerus MontoyaStephanie Gerus-Montoya is a lifetime volunteer in the bleeding disorder and HIV communities. A member of the community herself (FVIII and PAI 1 disorder), Stephanie is an associate producer for Jenuwine Production Company in Los Angeles, as well as being an actor, author and scriptwriter. Prior to this work Stephanie served as a K-12 instructor in forensic science, exercise health and nutrition.
